Afaik, squatter's rights are a holdover from Victorian times. You didn't move into someone's house, but if you could build a house on someone else's land before it was discovered, you had the right to stay there.

Just because you can't pick up and carry a house away (without contacting Mega Movers that is), does not mean that what they attempted was anything other than theft.

Squatters rights or adverse possession, as it's technically known, is pretty much redundant after the land registration act 2002. People still seem to think that you can move into someones house for abit and then it's yours...Wrong. You need to be living there for a minimum of 10 years and only after that can you apply to make yourself the proprietor, and if anyone opposes your claim who has a right to, then you're pretty much screwed!
For one group, it has been proven the MAJORITY are dirty criminals, pretending to be poor and being dirty beggars but actually driving around in expensive new cars living in villa's ( at least the ones in Poland near Konin ) while refusing to get normals jobs but stealing their whole wealth together...
The other, simply a group that wants to earn some money for home or seeks a better life. Afaik, the majority are not thieves...

And that's my whole point, their intention was to steal the house. Damn joke. If I broke into my neighbour's house today when I got home because his car wasn't there, something tells me the outcome would be very different.
