I am so angry by the disgusting greed and selfishness of the pigs around the Mother of all Parliaments that I thought I would start a register of pigs.

To be eligible, there must be a reasonable degree of evidence that an MP or someone associated with politics in the UK has used their position in a dishonourable manner for personal gain. Clearly, the list must be topped by Blair and Ashcroft. I am reluctant to include such scum as Lord Levy, Jonathan Aitken or Jeffrey Archer, dishonourable though they may well be.

Tony "Straight kind of guy, religious fundamentalist and warmonger" Blair (New Labour)

Michael "Tax-dodging foreigner" Ashcroft (Tory)

Geoff "Buff" Hoon (New Labour)

Patricia Hewitt (New Labour)

Stephen "The £5,000 Cabbie" Byers (New Labour)

Jacqui "Porn Diva" Smth (New Labour)

Peter "Mandy" Mandelson (New Labour Prince of Darkness)

Derek "That's my boy!" Conway (Tory)

Caroline "Nannygate" Spelman (Tory)

Ed Balls and Yvette Cooper (New Labour)

Nicholas "First class bum slapper" Winterton and Ann "Racist Pig" Winterton (Tory)

Tony McNulty (New Labour)

Eric "Dear God, look at the size of him!" Pickles (Tory)

Douglas "The Moat" Hogg (Tory)

Peter "Duck House" Vigers (Tory)

Lady "Empty Flat" Uddin (New Labour)

Harry "House for rent"Cohen (New Labour)

Elliott Morley (New Labour)

David Chaytor (New Labour)

Jim "D-I-Y" Devine

Julie "The Extender" Kirkbride (Tory)

Neil "Cash-for-questions" Hamilton (Tory)

Iris "Homophobic ****" Robinson (SDLP)

Gerry "Beardie" Adams (IRA)

Martin "Quartermaster" McGuinness (IRA)

I would greatly appreciate any suggested additions with relevant reasoning. If suggestions are made and I accept them, I will update this list (I have absolute editorial control); links will typically be to Wikipedia or may be to the Grauniad or BBC online if appropriate and/or I can be bothered; I will try not to discriminate between the Red & Blue breed of pig ;)

Shahid Malik.

Not sure anything else needs to be said.

[edit]Just in case there are those that are not aware.

At the start of the expenses row:

Reporter: What do you think?
Shahid Malik (stood in front of his Yorkshire mansion): It is disgusting that these MPs have used their position for financial gain and that he had stuck 'a million per cent by the rules'.

During the expenses row:

Reporter: Is it true you pay less than £100 a week for your 7 bedroom home whilst claiming for your 'second' house in Peckham that you bought before becoming an MP?
Shahid Malik (still in front of his Yorkshire Mansion): No comment, I will step down as Justice Minister whilst an investigation is carried out.

==============

Reporter: You are Mr Malik's landlord, can you provide an insight as to how he runs his finances?
Mr Zaman: He runs them very well, and doesn't use his position for gain. In fact, he saves the taxpayer money by paying less than the market rate for the house I let him.
Reporter: Oh really?

After expenses row:

Shahid Malik appeal against having to pay expenses back is rejected.

Out of interest, why do you exclude Archer, Aitken and Levy?

Gordon Brown: overclaiming expenses by £12k, lying to enquiries, bullying and intimidation of staff, paranoid victim of god complex.

Harriet Harman: Expenses abuser, serial hater of equality, careless driving while using mobile phone, took dodgy donations for leadership election.

In fact, this list makes a good start :)

Let's not forget the tax dodging expense fraudster non-dom Lord Paul (Labour)

Read the OP.

I disagree with Michael "Tax-dodging foreigner" Ashcroft (Tory). He's doing nothing wrong.

GB should definitely be there.

If GB is there then Ashcroft has to be too. Technically Ashcroft isn't doing anything wrong, but that goes for most of the MPs. I think morals are more to the point.

He lied to the courts. If we did that we'd be in contempt. Ergo, he's using his office for personal gain :D

What court?

Blah blah semantics :p I know the Inquiry is not a court of law... but still. You said 'morals' above.

Mandelson. Needs no explanation.

I wonder if one day we can have a stockhausen and scorza thread on politics without it being filled full of silly little names and childish insults that serve only to undermine the validity of any opinions they express?

It's debatable whether GB intentionally mislead the Iraq Enquiry or just got it wrong. Ashcroft most certainly knew what he was doing.

Mandelson is a cretin though.

I doubt it.

Jeez Fox get that poker out of your *** it doesn't suit you. Have some fun in ridiculing our illustrious MPs and quit whining :)

I don't mind in this thread, as that was the purpose of it.

But I admit it perturbs me when it is in other, more sensible threads. Especially in SC. Most people grew out of name calling in the playground.
