Whats up with OCUK with mini cams?

Is OcUK trying to promote spys or p... ?

i mean, how many things can you do with a pen cam? most of us chew the end of pens, so chewing on the end of that wouldn't really give a great video.

What would you do with a pencam/mini spy cam ?

They're cheap, well documented, fairly easy to mod and it's a platform for everyone to develop and share something together. Hence the rapidly growing 13 page thread on this forum and umpteen other forums too. We're a technical community, cheap and interesting technology always goes down well. :)

Cheap, I think you mean dirt cheap. ;) Same price as a few pints.
 
Im quite interested in the action cam but theres no way to mount it on my helmet for when i go kart racing :( my last camera always fell of my head at the end of the straight.

Im not exactly going to strap a pen to my head...not like im writeing while driving.

Or i could accidently make it roll into the lockers. What ever sex you want ;D

Are you referring to the thread about keyring cams?

Why do you think that people will use them for questionable activities? and is it really any of your or my business if they do? From what I've seen most people want to use them in cars, cats, balloons, RC vehicles or to have on a keyring just because it's a cool gadget. I'm thinking of getting one to waterproof and stick on the front of a canoe FYI.

I'm sorry but your OP just reeks of the "I don't understand it/why you want to do it so I'm going to object to it" attitude of so many people these days. It's similar to what photographers get on the street, people don't understand why you would want to take photos of people on the street and therefore in their tiny mind think that the photographer must be a paedophile or pervert because they believe the mass hysteria the press stirs up.

lol bit of a rant there :p
 
Being a ride / roller coaster geek, I can see myself recording POV videos without the risk of dropping a £200 compact camera off Nemesis or Oblivion :-D

I've not bought one yet and I'm still sceptical. I mean... £9 for a spy camera, free p&p, from Austrialia is too good to be true IMHO.
