Liquid carbs?

Can anyone give me an example of some liquid carbs? I am reading a plan from bodybuilding.com and it mentions about consuming liquid carbs early in the day, the amount dependning on whether it's a training or an off day.
 
some sort of sugar based substance i.e maltodextrin, dextrose, palantinose is the only thing I can think it would mean.
I dont see why you would consume them early in the day though, if I'm having carbs its good wholefood sources such as oats to keep me going throughout the day or palantinose around my workout when I want them quick and easily digested
 
Milk, blended oats.

Isotonic drinks.

And a variation of complex and simple carbs depending on what you want to blend into a smoothie type of thing.
