I have been eating these most days for a few weeks now because I like them, they taste like peanut butter.

Anyway - this morning I bit down onto them and it hurt, I spat it out and there were two bits of grit/stone about 5mm diameter in size in the bar!

I bought them from Waitrose.

Waitrose have always been fantastic whenever I have taken anything back but I kind of feel it isn't their problem. What should I do for maximum result? I really want a full explanation of how exactly grit ended up in my food. Not happy. Have had a sore tooth all day.

No contact details on the wrapper?

One of my old colleagues brought a sandwhich from a known supoermarket and it had a massive staple in the thing

Make your own in future to make sure nothing goes into them that you're not sure of! Or stop being dramatic, realise it wasn't intentional, write to said company including the remains of the bar/wrapper & profit from free bars.

Yeah it's probably just one-off accident. I wouldn't aim to topple the entire company or anything - just get some free bars or letter of apology (just to put on your wall in a frame?).

My niece recently found a ladybird in a Birds Eye fish in sauce. Her mum got in touch with Birds Eye and a couple of weeks later she recieved a £5 voucher in the mail......for Birds Eye only products.

Needless to say, it hasnt been used. :p

Based on these replies I think I'll just go back to Waitrose. When my mother found a slug in her lettuce they gave her £100 in vouchers. That was one of their own products though...

Seriously? That's a terrible business model since essentially slugs like lettuce and anyone could have put it there? Ah well, with customer service it's usually 'he who shouts loudest' I guess.
