Macbook Pro - buy now, or wait?

They learned that lesson the hard way when Vista flopped and they were left with a whole heap of stock nobody was interested in.

oi, we arnt that bad :p at least us in the tech centre know what we are talking about (at least my store)

i wish that apple would hurry up and give us the update, i want a mac a good month before i start my placement year
 
Im desperate to get one at the moment - really hoped it would have been refreshed while I was on holiday...

have no choice but to use them, my vaio died after 4 months of very light use so i have decided to use the replacement voucher to purchase a MBP
 
I'm going to wait either way, then I can decide whether I want an older (current) gen MBP for a cheaper price or buy one of the shiny new i5 refreshes if the prices are still reasonable :)
 
According to Mac Rumors, it's been 290 days since the last update. The average time between updates is 200.

Come on, Apple, my credit card is itching to be used. :p
 
I think the hold up is i7 availability, Specced a Sony Vaio Z yesterday and the delivery time is 3-4 weeks, on Amazon you can only buy i3/i5 atm, seems i7 is scarce.
 
I'm glad that apple are taking their time/having problems, as it means I have a fighting chance of arranging funds later for a Macbook Pro 15", if they update before I have cahs I'll be upset
 
spoke to an it guy earlier and he reckons we will not see the i5 or i7 until atleast may or even june!

i can't wait that long so i ordered mine today, 17" 2.8 GHz MBP
 
Going on a three day course soon away from home...needed an excuse to buy a laptop - so this maybe it.

However I have an affinity for mac products :p
