And then along came the Galaxy S

4"? This is supposed to be a mobile device... 3.2" is the 'perfect' size i think. Judging by the TG01 this will be completely unpractical.

iv got a toco how big is it by comparison? (i actually dont like how small a lot of things are getting as iv got quite big hands and struggle to use em lol)

I hate what Samsung have done to the Android UI, looks horrible. If I was to get this phone I'd wait till it could be loaded with SENSE UI or vanilla Android.

Doesn't look at all like the iPhone does it? Not sure I really like Samsung's take on Android either, I'm not a fan of their designs in general to be honest.

Still, another Android phone on the market is good and the more high end handsets we have, the better!

They haven't done that much, stock Android is a lot 'duller' than you might think.

I think vanilla 2.1 is far from dull, if anything I think it's best looking UI bar Sense UI. The Samsung skin looks too colourful and 'XP' like.

I still think it has a way to go, but it's mainly that light grey notification bar and those cartoony icons that bothers me. But yes, 2.1 is a small improvement.

Just remember that the Nexus ROM isn't stock 2.1...

Exactly what I don't like about the skin, especially the cartoon icons! Gives Android a childish look when it suites a more subtle 'classy' look IMO.

The hardware sounds great, would love to check out that Super AMOLED screen .

Not in the slightest... :D

Just the front and UI....

And knowing samsung the material will be a bit nasty as well. So you have old design, mixed with the "good" old samsung way of making things and you're not going to have a good phone unfortunately.

hmmm, being an original galaxy owner I can't help but be reserved about this, samsung have been so terrible with their support and updates, there are at present about 10 different "latest" firmwares available, depending on when you installed their software, where your phone's from.

I dont think I'd go for this over the desire.

What Abraham says is the reason I'm not really interested in a Samsung Android phone, I don't believe that there'll be ongoing development and support for their products (plus I also think their UI is fugly).

Owning the phone I'd beg to differ. What's not stock? I was under the impression that the Droids 2.1 wasn't stock because it kept the old-skool launcher....

Back on topic. Look at the form of previous Samsung Android handsets. Outspecced and outgunned by their launches, always terrible, most if not all are stuck on the same version of Android they shipped with.... Doesn't bode well for this does it? I'll be steering well clear.

the nexus is just android 2.1 the same as the g1 running stock 1.5 did at launch, the only thin htc branded phones have over none htc ones is the sense ui.

the smasung looks ok, it probably will be to big, and im so used to sense ui id like to stay with it now.
