Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Guile does not need corner combos he needs some good BnB stuff to be used with his ultra.

That's not what the best UK Guile's reckon.

Juri's V-ism style CC's are a great way to make the game more aggressive, rather than the turtle style Ultra's or mash and pray Ryu/Sagat style DP FADC Ultra combo's.

What Im saying is that he doesnt have close quarter pressure play/juggle capability.

Hes a zoning character, but he falls over when he goes close quarters in terms of damage (outside of the corner). He doesnt have any damage maximising combos in those situations.

So what Im trying to say is that he needs some BnB stuff when hes NOT in the corner which is damage maximisng and not overly difficult to perform compared to other characters like Boxer/Sagat etc.

Hence "he does not need (more) corner combos". His corner pressure play is can be pretty decent.

Guile zones differently to Ryu/Sagat.

He's a pressure zoner, and his game revolves around pushing the opponent to a corner to apply pressure. Currently he lacks the tools to do this as effectively as he should, forcing players to play a very dry zoning style that the character wasn't really designed for. He's got these extra tools anyway now with more viable pressure links and mixups.

Giving him great mid screen combo's would make him too powerful really, as he is an incredible zoner as is with one of the best AA moves in the game (c.HP).

To be honest, it sounds like you want Dee Jay, who's slightly lacking in zoning tools but has some great cross ups and BnB combo's.

they made guile a very crap character now...his flash kick is not as good as it should be. he rely too much on sonic boom and baiting tatics to zone. plus his damage per combo/hit is pretty bad and his ultra/super doesnt do enough damage to justify its hard command to execute, plus its very hard to combo into his ultra...he has become a pressure counterer with low damage output, which make him a high risk, low reward character.

i agree on he doesnt need a mid screen combo, i think he do just up his damage a bit and make the flash kick better.

Yes! Psycho Crusher got buffed and Ultra 2 is fullscreen after all. :D

It seems PC has a much better hitbox catching people in the air and it's miles faster.

just came back from holiday in hong kong, the competition out there is pretty intense and the standard of play was high!

one place i went to on a busy saturday night had a decent player on all 6 arcade machines (all 6 linked up... constant fights) with a decent crowd watching, awesome to see. saw some decent vipers, giefs, akumas, rog and a sagat + others. execution rate was sweet and the viper was just stupid good.

i did ok another visit on quieter night though i was rusty but i was going anywhere near them on that saturday haha! only $4 hk dollars a go, 3 rounds... thats about 35p a go.

got me really hyped for ssf4 although im gonna miss having lag free match ups. also had a few quick gos on a mates console online... nearly all matches were 5 bar :o

edit- wrong price on machines

Sounds awesome. Would love to have an arcade nearby with decent machines. It seems arcades attract the scum of the earth around these parts.

If i win the Euromillions one day i'm going to open a membership only arcade with awesome machines where decent normal people can come and play, without chav types ruining everything :D

Whereabouts in Hong Kong was this? The only arcade i found with SF4 had 2 machines - the rest didn't have it at all! Although that one was only $2 a go ;)

Edit: did a search, was it **** Kok? I wish i searched before i went.. i didn't because i was expecting nearly every arcade to have it!!

SSFIV is being previewed early (17th) in London and Glasgow for those interested in trying it out just after all the pirates have it.

They should really have done the previews earlier.

the particular one i was talking about was in **** kok yea :), its right near the giant hsbc there on nathan road. a lot of the shops/arcades are hidden away so you have to look how for signs, as its often just a small entrance which leads downstairs. i think one chain of arcades i saw was 'gamezone' so look out for that sign.

also what i meant was $4 hk dollars haha! typo :(, cheapest i found was $3 but that was a quieter place with less machines... you need to get to the action to see the skills :D
