Daft question...Quad bike with steering wheel?

Ok I know its a bit of a strange question but Im sure there will be a handful of people on here with some quad bike knowledge.

Can you buy a quad bike with a steering wheel?

It won't be for road use, just a bit of fun off road but it have the usual handle bar affair due to shoulder injury.
 
I doubt it, if you've got a shoulder injury that prevents handle bar usage I suspect the last thing you want to do is throw a quad bike around anyway!
 
I really doubt it, we've had about 7 quad bikes, we tend to buy a similar model every two years to keep them newish (we have two at a time)

They don't have power assisted steering, a steering wheel just wouldn't work

And like fox said, it's the last thing you want to have fun on with a shoulder injury!


A lot of the weight balance/control is using your arms on the bars, without the bars you would just fall off..

Ok cheers guys was worth a try, its not a shoulder injury thats painful, it just physically restricts full movement. Me and my mum were just starting to look as a suprise for my dad as he's wanted one since his bike accident.

Problem is he had a shoulder operation a couple of months back and its turned out worse than it was before so he was resigned (read: gutted) to the fact that he couldn't have one.

Just had a thought this morning but a quick google didn't really bring up any results.
 
Apart from the obvious problems that it raises (where do you put clutch and throttle? Assuming that your left and right feet are already occupied with gear selection and rear brake), handlebars offer a leverage in steering. Unless somehow power assisted, a wheel would prove hard work and awkward I'd imagine.
 
You need one of those off road mini dune buggy things, they are like the Aussie dune buggys but are about the size of a go kart. Proper seat & harness with a full cage & a steering wheel. :cool:
