If you have the choice of console or pc, do you still sometime go for console?

I have a gaming capable pc again, but am finding myself still wanting to get games for my consoles, even PFS games.

Do those of you with gaming capable pc's still often get games which would be better on pc, on console instead?

Nope.

You've got to be a mental to buy BC2, L4D2 et al on a console if you've got the choice between the platforms.

Edit; It can depend what version your friends have I suppose, but most of mine have half decent PC's. :)

Yes, sometimes. I play MW2 on the PS3 because there's a few people from work who play it online. Something like Street Fighter 4 I would always buy the console version. The one game I'm not sure which version to buy is GTA 4 episodes when it comes out.

The only FPS games I will buy on console now are exclusives, If a FPS comes out on all platforms then the PC wins hands down, consoles are better for racing games though.

It's how I generally make my purchase decisions. I'll rent the console version and if I enjoy it, I will buy the game on Steam.

I have a PC capable of playing all the latest games, but I will go console every time. I just find the whole experience cleaner and nicer.

Nearly always these days, i was bitten badly with all the bugs in Bioshock 1+2 when i bought the double pack on Steam. It's pretty much only RTS' and RPGs that i will still buy on the PC.

I am in the situation of looking to go back to PC gaming. Don't get me wrong I love my 360/PS3 yet somehow feel my whole experience could be better if I sold up and got a gaming PC again.

I don't know why I want to do it, maybe I'm just a purist and the only games I play are FPS games these days, Forza 3 doesn't hold my attention much and I could play for hours BC2/MW2/L4D2 if I had a gaming PC. I really don't think I would be missing out on much.

Im the opposite. I usually see if I can justify the PC version first, then decide whether to go console or not.

The choice is getting easier now though with PC DRM, my laptop tech specs getting a bit old, having to sign up for hundreds of stupid services I dont want just to play the game...

Come to think about it, I'm about 80% console now.

Multiplayer games I would always go for the console purely because more of my friends have consoles than gaming PCs.

Single player games? Whatever is cheapest really.

Thing that's prompted this topic is I have a week off work soon and was intending to plough through a bunch of games.

Ones that are sticking points for me are Fallout 3 (though getting the 360 version for £10 through MM), Dragon Age, Dead Space which I'd like to play again.

I am tempted to get both PC and 360 versions of Dead Space, play both, and see if better graphics and smoother frame rates really equate to a better experience.

And while I am enjoying Bad Company 2 on PC, it just feels like there is something missing from the experience.

Wish there were more exclusives - makes it so much easier. Wil defo be picking up MGS 4 :)

I've recently switched back. About a year or so ago i was console hands down (halo 3). Switch to pc when i got my new one in october and loved+prefered it since then. Now i've gotten back into Xbox (mw2), i just cant seem to play well at all on pc. Also more mates play on xbox so i find i just stick to that.

There really will be little difference between Dead Space experiences, its all about the sound and atmospherics on that game. Only real difference is PC version will be proper HD + above. Just get the cheapest version. :)

360 all the way. Far less hassle. Every PC game thread on here is usually filled with people CTD, driver issues, graphic issues. I've moved on from that and don't have the time. Disc in...play.

I suppose you are right.

I guess what I should really be using as a test is BC2. Just don't want to fork out £35 for the PS3 version, having already paid £25 for PC which I stupidly activated online :(

Good point. When I bought my PS3 I was impressed that if i turned it on for an hour, I played a game for an hour. Sounds obvious but it wasn't something I had thought about before.

The few games i've tried to play on my 360 lead to it's swift demise (5 games in 3/4 years, 3 RROD), so i tend to favour the PC over 360 these days.

I'm hoping to have better luck with my new PS3.

True but I try and look past that.

I can play any game on the pc, if its a 3rd person/sports/racing/fighting game, then I use the 360 pad.

This. I'm fine with DRM to an extent, but what Ubisoft has been doing lately with requiring your internet connection to be constantly on is too much. I like buying and playing a game without having to get permission to play it each time I put it in. ;)

Valve games are pretty much the only ones I will always go for PC everytime, and I can't see that changing any time soon.
