Tax rise on Petrol not going to lose any votes then?
Mr Darling says he has revised downwards slightly the growth forecast for 2011 to between 3% and 3.5% to bring it more in line with predictions from the City. Growth is predicted at 1 to 1.5% for 2010.
Next month's planned 3p increase in fuel duty will be staged to soften the blow. It will go up by 1p in April, another 1p in October and a final 1p in January 2011.
The ISA limit is of interest - raised again to £10,200...

What reason have they pulled out of their ass for petrol being so expensive anyway?
The cost of fuel has increased in over 3p in the last couple of months! It's staggering that it just keeps doing the same. As said though, with the election coming up it's not really going to do much IMO
What a surprise screw the rich over. Not going for votes. 60% of tax rises will only hit top 5 % of earners. Nothing like a fair society.
