Hi,

I am after a new motherboard as my current one (Gigabyte P35-DS3L) has seemed to have stopped allowing me to change the fsb for my cpu. Gigabyte isn't willing to do anything too which has annoyed me. They keep trying to blame other components in my pc when it blatently isn't.

Anyways, I am after an S775 motherboard for an E7200. The few things I need is:

single pci-e
single pci
hold 4xddr2 modules
good onboard audio (ie ALC888 etc)

Plus ideally good fan control as I like to use the motherboard to control 3 system fans and the cpu fan. As this is just to replace my current one I am not wanting to spend too much too, so what shall I go for? Is it worth going for the later chipsets at all?

The biggest drawback with that Asus is the terrible positioning of the 24pin socket. Why on earth they stuck it at the back of the board is beyond me.

Regarding your problem, have you tried flashing to the latest bios, clearing cmos and re-entering all of your settings?

A good board that meets your requirements is the Gigabyte EP43-UD3L. I just got one of these brand new off the bay for £35 and it is running a E8500 at 4Ghz currently.

Have you tried flashing the bios to the latest version? Reset defaults first and give it a go?

Edit: beaten to it ^^

Ive got a P45 DS3P, i think ocuk sell the ud3lr model. Mine has been great apart from the vdroop, which im not bothered about really

I get problems with my gigabyte ds3 everynow and again where the overclock is set but the effect is as if everythings at stock.

I have to switch the machine off, clear the cmos and wait about ten mins then the changes in the bios actually makes the correct changes to the system.

Resetting the bios without powering off does not work.

Edit: when searching to resolve this issue i found this thread, it might be of some help.
