Anyone in Brighton area with a Halfrauds trade card?

I wouldnt mind knowing either.

Going by the website, you only need a business card to prove you are a "self employed" mechanic - is this true? If so, I may have to set up shop ;)

Or work in the motor trade and provide a payslip.

I have one and its amazing some of the discounts available!

Wiper blades down from £16 to £6, Bulbs £3 down to 50p!

And other stuff, will save you lots of dough if your a frequent visitor - like me!

hmmm, I was looking at getting a torque wrench from halfords (came out top in AutoExpress test. I was struggling to justify £50 to my self though.

What is this trade card you talk about and how do i sign up :)

I suppose it depends on how switched on the staff are, worth a go though!

Not that i'm one to tar all with the same brush, but given my experience with Halfords staff, "switched on" isn't near the top of the list when it comes to descriptors :p

I could really do with my own one, but I'm useless at blagging :(

I don't mind travelling a bit as I need to get a few hundred quids worth of stuff. I can sweeten the deal with a ride in car that will make any other vehicle you ever own/use seem incredible in comparison :D

I doubt they will let the shop floor monkeys dish them out though, managers only maybe

Yes managers only. The one in my local Halfords was not willing to grant one to anyone who could not provide a payslip from a garage or an official qualification. I mentioned the whole "stacks of invoices keen DIYer" routine and he was having none of it, despite what it says on the website.
He said it was at his discretion and he chooses to issue very very few trade cards!

Just be careful the terms and conditions of the trade card state its for your own personal use. They can take it off you if they believe you are lending the card out or buying item for friends.

At my place we all have them and we don't work on cars but aircraft. I just showed my airport pass and was given one by a worker behind the parts desk. As did all my collegues that got one.
