Hi,,
Is there any way to find the paint code for my car? i've tried searching the internet and mg forums but there's about 4/5 different shades of red.
i'm looking to get some coloured wax and hopefully cover the small stone chips but it really needs to be the correct shade of red.

Without knowing what you have it is hard to say but most cars will have a sticker that contains the info.

Usually on the inside of the boot, inside of the door shut or stamped onto the vin plate.

Found a list of reds:

CUY Bolero Red
CNS Burgundy
CAA Carmine Red
COG Cherry Red
CQB Cherry Red 2
CDX Copperleaf Red
COS Cranberry Red
CEB Damson red
COS Cranberry Red
CDW Dorchester Red
CEV Firefrost Red
COF Flame Red
CUH Foxfire Red
CWC Indiana Red
CMV Morello
CDM Mulberry Red
CNF Mulberry Red 2
CPX Nevada Red
COQ Nightfire Red
CAQ Nightfire Red 2
CBT Nightfire Red 3
CMP Oporto
CMU Solar Red
CNE Targa Red
EAC Volcano

Dont know how accurate they are though.

damn it, beaten to it!

thanks, it's the solar red.
there's not a solar red wax and looking for the code isn't really helping now, may have to go into the local A1 motors and ask them .
looking for turtle wax as it's only £5 from A1 motors at the moment.

Why would there be a specific "solar red" wax?

The chances of you getting a colour match are pretty slim tbh. That red is probably half way to becoming pink by now. Just like every other red car.
