Which of these 2 PCs would you buy?

id say the 1st one, but down grade the graphics card to an 5850 oc to 5870 levels saving yourself some bucks for use on better HD or memory... :D

Now this is very interesting to me.
Surely you can still OC the 5870 even further?
Then you'd have lower temps with higer speeds etc.

true but that way you can still get the similar performance of a very respectable 5870 and use the cash else where to provide a nice balanced system :)

Most definitely 1st one for gaming, although I would add an 80GB intel SSD to that build for OS and a couple games to really make it awesome.

Went for the first one, should be a hefty uplift from my 6 year old AMD 939 system. Thanks for the lively discussion and comments, helped me to decide. Did consider the second with a 5850 but the price rose sharply out of my set limit. Looking forward to enjoying BFBC2 and crysis on high+ settings.
Thanks again.

Foolish?? Is £1050 a lot for the above system 1 including win 7 64, P&P and a wireless network card?? Having looked at many pre built systems from many different suppliers (system 2 above for example) it seemed very reasonable..... Before people comment on building my own and saving a few pennies, due to my lack of technical knowledge and time in general it was never my intention.

Hmm, You could get it cheaper(But only self built, which you dont want to do)

Does the spec come with mouse and keyboard of any merit? Or generic?

I wouldnt say you were foolish as thats harsh, and considering we dont know the specifics of the motherboard, or graphics card, or the extra cooling included, also the fact its been built, tested and come preloaded with an OS.

It will be edging closer to the £1000 mark

personally I think thats a good price:D
I paid slightly more for slightly higher spec but its still excellent value as I also shopped around and some were cheaper but the specs were poor in comparison.

so basically Kevlon, good choice. I assume you bought it here?

I say good on you.

It will be multiple times faster than a amd939.

And ignore the negative comments, a 5770 isn't even as fast as a 4870/4890.

Any idea as to what the brand of RAM is, also the type of Hard drive? I was just speccing up the System on OCUK :)

Without the inclusion of those 2 pieces of hardware, as I dont know the brands. The cost comes to £901.60, that's delivered.

the fact your system will be built and overclocked for you, and tested. And the fact I havent added the cost of a 500gb drive or the RAM!!

Also add £20 to the end cost for the Dynamode wireless card

That seems to be an awesome deal.
