Speedfan loads up twice at startup

START -> RUN -> MSCONFIG

check it's not also listed in that startup section
also check the application settings as it might be set to load on Windows start up on it's own.

They're in startup tab twice because one is the startup folder one. Delete both entries, (delete the satrtup folder one) and then copy the Speedfan shortcut back into the startup folder in the start menu.

Problem solved.

Problem not solved. Deleted the one from startup, Removed both from MSCONFIG and confirmed that they weren't starting.

Put speedfan back into the startup folder and again, 2 load up.

What version are you running?

I'm on 4.4 with "minimise at startup" set.

Nope, Just loads once. Works fine if I run it automatically on startup. Its just when I put it into the startup folder it all messes up.

In msconfig, It says both entries are in the startup folder, As if I've put two in there. But I've looked and there is definetly only one there. Very confused.

Aha I think I might have the solution, it just sprung into my mind while I was thinking about some food (!).

Right Click the startup folder, click "Open" then do the same again and click "Open All Users".

Make sure the shortcut only exists in one and not the other - long shot and shouldn't happen this way but you never know :p

You'd still have Open All Users - or should (I'm the only user on my PC for example).

Is this Win7 ?

Ah vista,.

You could try manually going to the locations:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
and
C:\Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

I'd manually create a shortcut to the first location and retest then move it to the 2nd location to see which one solves the problem.

Bingo!

Found out there was no Startup folder for 'All Users' so I created one. Shoved speedfan in my startup folder and there we go, Now works.

Appreciate the help, Cheers.
