Bad Company 2 - Shotgun Guide

Not so much a guide to use it per say, but how to be effective, as outline moving and shooting doesnt work that well, where as any of the rifles can still hit if you lead the target, just handy to see it in action than sitting there getting annoyed why you cant hit something.

Watching a video of someone playing like such won't help if you suck already.
:p. You can still move and shoot with shotgun, I''ve been able to. His video shows it where he actually missed.

Edit: But nice video but it highlights how powerful it is.

This is what puts me off shotguns, the fact that if you move, they miss so much, even if they're directly in the middle of your cross hairs, move and shoot = Miss. It's such a hard learning curve, but I guess once you get it down, then you're sorted.

shotgun is quite powerful if u combine it with slug ammo & magnum damage you can kill people at sniper range , downfall is that it reloads slowly and only has 4 shells

Good vid, 5*'d. I use the 870 + 12 gauge + mag ammo combo a lot, and even though I absolutely adore it, I've found that the hitreg is really iffy at times. I never gave much thought to standing relatively still while taking the shot, but I'll keep that in mind while rambo'ing around and see if it helps.

The worst case of bad hitreg I've had was when standing completely still behind a crouched and totally still enemy about 5 yards away, just out of knife range, my shotty was aimed square between his shoulder blades, 2 rounds shot - no registry, 1 in the head - again, no registry, he 180's and pops 1 M1911 bullet into my head. In my younger days, that sort of stuff caused my keyboards to have a short life span, so it's a good thing for my keyboard that I've mellowed out in my older-age! :D

That's my problem with the shotgun. When I use it I'm generally "running and gunning" with it. Now I just need to rank up a bit more for the added unlocks.

I find it exactly as above, hitting a moving target no problem, standing targets are completely different in the game for some unexplainable reason, tend to save the stress and sneak in for the knife kill

Nice video, although i probably will never use the shotgun, i like using the sniper rifle, brings back the good old headshot Spearhead days.

The knife is worse for me, so many times I am so close the them stab, hear the knife go in, he is still there, crap my pants, knife him again hear the sound, he does a 180 knife and I'm dead. Serious keyboard mouse mashing happens after that.

Need to get your eye in with the ns2000, just tried it again and can't believe I've got 500+ kills with it.

Great video, I wish I could run as fast as in the last section lol! Can't wait to have a go now I know the basics as I found them a bit poor compared to my M416. My mate raves about the underslung shotgun attachment for assault rifles, anybody use that?

Nice video. Not a fan of the shotgun though.

I prefer more overpowered weapons like the m60 and magnum ammo, personally :D

How did you record the ingame video? Fraps? I've wondered if there is any sort of demo recording feature in BC2 for a while.

Haven’t played BC 2 since Tuesday and after reading this thread I just want to jump on and kick ass with a shotgun now.

@Bones:
I was wondering that myself if this game had any Battle recorder like in BF2 or if there will be one implemented.

Oh forgot to say originally, nice video. :p Now I know why I get killed from such a long range with a shotgun.

I love using the shotgun in BC2, i've got 5 stars with the NS2000 and 2 stars with the Saiga so far, I prefer the Saiga for close range fighting I think, but the NS2000 is much better at range
