Historic colour photos 1957 nurburgring grand prix!

That is a fascinating set of pictures, the Maserati looks good. Chicken wire fencing around the circuit, safety, what’s that! Some of the all time greats are there, thanks for sharing. :)

Qually time of 9min 25s

Looks like a beatiful race day, the cars look amazing. What would you give to have been there? Allowed to stand right by the track as Fangio drives past...

Thanks for posting that, really cool :)

Old cars seem to 'dig in' a lot, and that corner was catching everyone out! They needed lower centre of mavity and wider tyres like the 964s.

This is fantastic and shows why the old Spa WAS the greatest circuit on the planet, not the Ring in my book. Spa was simply THE most ball clenching place to race at as it was so quick and had 2 or 3 of the most epic bends in the history of motorsport!

Take this in for a minute!

"At the 1973 1000km event, Jacky Ickx qualified the Ferrari 312PB with a time of 3 minutes 12.7 seconds at an average speed of 163.679mph (262.461kph). During the race Frenchman Henri Pescarolo, driving a Matra-Simca MS 670, recorded the fastest lap in 3 minutes 13.4 seconds at 163.086mph (262.461kph). In addition to maintaining high lap speeds, the drivers of the fastest cars were lapping slower traffic. The slowest qualifier for the 1973 event was the /Siegle Porsche 911 Carrera RS at 4 minutes 21.4 seconds at 120.3 mph (194.036 kph)."

Very few seat belts worn in that vid either :/ The early video where the woman comes out of the car then smacks her head on the way back in
