If the car has a drivers air-bag, then it doesn't have a collapse-able steering column.

If you take away the air-bag then crash and smash your face on the new wheel, it'll hurt.

If you have a ph1 clio 172 you need 1 resistor or 2 if its a ph2 to remove the airbag and serv lights on the dashboard. And they won't even mention it come MOT time. Also the horn you can just wire up to the button in the centre of most aftermarket wheels.

Phase 2, so a couple of resistors, and the momo wheel I'm lookin at has a sigle horn in the centre so should be ok to simply wire up.

However, I hav just driven through one hell of a thunder storm where I couldn't see where I was goin, and the airbag warning light just came on! Hoping its just some damp electrics, lol.

I took both the airbags out my Integra, changed the wheel and wanted to use it with my son in the front in his rear facer as it didnt fit in the back.

Apparently not. Everything thats a straight swap is equally as big (380mm diameter for anyone interested). Even up to the new RS Twingo. Seems even after 10 years of RS cars Renault still havent twigged that big isnt always better

How is the second one balderdash? He's stated as a fact that it made no difference to his insurance, not that it won't to someone else's.

Opinions of people who have experience > people who have no experience but have opinions.

Doesn't look like any renault wheel that will fit is any smaller, so looks like getting a smaller wheel = gettin one without an airbag. Lots of people hav done it so it looks like there should be pleanty of support around. However, it is a £250 mod.
