North Korea is terrible, its a shame their population is so censored and smothered in propaganda from when they're born that they don't know its a complete ****hole.

Poor people, I do hope that their time to throw off the shackles comes some time soon.
 
The sad thing is that most of them do seem to realise what an awful place it is but are understandably too scared to attempt any sort of change.

There was quite an interesting documentary a while back about a NK girl who escaped and then went back to rescue her sister. She took her to China and within a few days, her sister was begging to go back.

There's no doubt that they are brainwashed from birth but a lot of people forget that there is actually some real reasons behind why they despise the US and any other imperialists...

A lot of North Koreans I have spoken to have been out of NK and actually travel a lot. The idea of living in the West or living outside of their communist rule is absolutely absurd to them - granted these were people who were quite affluent and living in Pyongyang but of course nowhere near the standards of life that we're all used to.

i watched a danish comedy show go to NK to do a perfomance in the country...the performers were danish but of korean decent.

the NK's tried to make the disabled chap only pretend that he was disabled etc, they dont seem to appreciate anyone with difficulties or needs over there. it seems like a very rigid society. one sneeze and you are out.

That's interesting. My view is based on the few documentaries I've seen so admittedly not the most authoritative or reliable sources of information. I would imagine though that life for most North Koreans is a pretty wretched and depressing existence.

Definitely. If you're living in Pyongyang you're one of the lucky few that's for sure.

Would it though? if you have been brought up living that way then you be conditioned to it so that way of life would seem pretty normal, imo

I don't know if any amount of propaganda can overcome the problems, like the chronic food shortage, that must be evident to most North Koreans.
