As is his EX Upper into Ultra on absorption, crouching throw techs, Rog's j.fierce-> tap, Ryu's j.Fierce->DP etc...

what's considered easier, octagonal gates or square ones?

got a TE stick, and having trouble getting the shoto moves down
 
i would say the game was more designed for square gates, judging by the shortcuts... square is standard in arcades ive been to.

practice the motions, learn the proper motions and also look up the shortcuts so you know what works. also go into practice mode and turn on input commands so you can see your mistakes, one of my common mistakes when starting when pressing buttons before motions were completed.

I am just in total awe as to how players can excute these fireballs cancelled into ultras and so on.

Could any of you quarter circle veterans describe to me exactly the motion and how to pull off what these guys are pulling off in the aforementioned link?

They're glitches, done like so:

1- Throw
2- D, DF, F+P
3- MP+MK, F, F
4- Dash/Wait depending on character
5- Do Ultra motion, such as: D, DF, F, D, DF, F+PPP

They're not cancelling into ultras, as it's not a traditional combo (which can use chains, links or cancels).

It is very simple, but you have to time it down to 1 frame!

did anyone play Street Fighter Alpha 3? That's the other SF game that I really enjoyed and am wondering if SF4 is quite similar. Although V-Isms were one of the best things about SFA3 and I guess that those are gone.

i starting playing alpha 3 again the other day and i can tell you it feels very different and slow...
 
Quick question, I put SF IV down a while ago but have preordered SF IV Turbo for the end of April. Will my save files from SF IV work? Sorry if it's already been posted I used the search function and couldn't find anything plus most other websites I found via google are blocked cause I'm at work I was hoping 1 of you lads could answer.
 
Your save files won't work, but all characters will be unlocked, and you earn colours just through playtime with a character.
