Sapphire HD5770 HK$1150 (£100.30)
Sapphire HD5770 Vapor-X HK$1330 (£115)
HD5830 HK$1800-HK$2000 (£155.70-£173)
Sapphire HD5850 HK$2150 (£186)
Sapphire HD5850 Vapor-X HK$2370 (£205)
Sapphire HD5870 HK$3000 (£260)

Warranty: 2 years with brand's Hong Kong's regional supplier.

I'm not really in need of a upgrade to be honest, but the prices does seem tempting. I'm a bit interested in the Vapor-X 5770 or Vapor-X 5850.

Let's pretend the warrenty is non-existense (since any rma would need to be shipped to Hong Kong)...do you guys think the cards at those prices are worth buying? :p

And damn it...if pounds' (£) value wasn't so low right now, the prices would be way cheaper XD

£186 for a 5850?!

Da hell?

So if you buy the product from a HK retailer, the Sapphire ones, you can't RMA them to the Euro Sapphire? If you could that would be epic :(

That's because general goods in Hong Kong don't charge VAT (things like cigarette, alcohol, cosmetics, cars do charge VAT though).

And I already checked, warranty don't cross region...unfortunately...

yeah they are as good as the same price OCuk charge minus the VAT, would you have to pay any duty on bringing expensive electrical goods back??

Not always, you don't really need to declare its value, or if you're getting it shipped over, it can be marked as a gift.

I've had stuff shipped from Japan to the value of around £300 where I paid 0 import duty/VAT.

You should legally declare it and pay the VAT on it... there are ways around it as kylew said

I'll have two number ones, two number fives and errr... give us a number six with chips please.

You can declare them as samples too.

Ill take 2 5850's plz

Thats odd, I am living in Thailand and the 5870 is like 17000 = £340. I am not sure about the tax regulations but I pay 3% income tax. Maybe its there is a high import tax here or I havent looked around enough for a good deal

Yep, with income tax that low, the government will be raising money through VAT or sales tax. Perhaps impost taxes as well.

Any chance they're fakes?

There is a chance that the quality is not as good compared to purchasing the same product from the island. These prices i assume are from the golden computer market/ arcade where you do often see a lot of new things out in the wild first.

However after saying that the products do still work and i dont see there being any problem i have been buying parts from there for years and not had anything fail yet.

I have been to many market places in Hong Kong. If you're talking about Sapphire cards from the computer market in Central - I asked one of the guys to open one of the boxes up. It looked very much like a genuine Sapphire card, but the box itself was damaged and the whole thing just looked used in some way. :(

I'm sure they aren't all like that, but I'd much rather pay a little more and have assured quality. Plus for most of us - flights to Hong Kong are hardly cheap. ;) A shame really because the transport inside Hong Kong is amazingly cheap. Star Ferry ***.

Also in Hong Kong right now Marine-RX179 you need to configure your trust so ppl can email you! lol
I'm not sure if I know how to do that lol. I tried looking under the User CP but can't find it.

Edited: nevermind. Think I've set it up now.

Yea, the pricing I got was indeed quoted from the Golden Computer market/arcade. Anyone in Hong Kong know a bit about computer/computer hardwares would know the place, as it's famous for good quality, large variaty and low prices computer hardwares and accessories :p
