I over clocked my E8400 to 4ghz using 445 x 9 on a 1:1 ratio with memory at 490mhz..

Shortly after this firefox has been crashing a lot

cpu is running at 1.3volts and mem at 1.9

How would i solve this, and is this likely to be the issue, never had any problems with anything before i overclocked..

run it at stock, see if it still does it, simples

somewhere, were would be a good place to start you think, im only a novice overclocker, i know enough but lack knowledge on the voltage area of it :/

ah sorry only just seen your post, no i havnt yet but i will later, i think ive got prime95 already so ill run that, i have a program that stresses the cores and shows the temps, how long should i run it for, an hour?

i will let you know when im at home, its a good one though, 700watt atx 2.2, cost me bout £80 at the time, maybe i need to increase the voltage somewere..but yeah the crashes seemed to happen a lot right after i upgraded firefox but still, how come orthos failed straight away?

I'm ok to leave it at 3.8ghz tho tbh, but if someone has a suggestion how to keep it at 4ghz, then maybe ill try it, maybe im missing a voltage somewere :)

Got it from another thread =]

specs are

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz (1333FSB)
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 DHX PC2-6400C4DHX TwinX (2x1GB)
150GB Western Digital 10000RPM 16MB Cache Raptor X
Asus Maximus Formula Intel X38 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2
Coolermaster Real Power 700w Modular
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket 775)

firefox can be a bit iffy sometimes i used to run my cpu at stock and firefox ran fine after i overclocked my system it kept crashing. I uninstalled it and re-downloaded it and it was fine. Ther was another guy on the forum called macca that had the same problem he did the same re-downloaded it and it was fine.

Maybe just one of those things i also found out that firefox don't like high FSB on amd systems anything over 241 FSB on my system causes firefox to crash even if i use something that equates to 3.2 GHZ it still crashes but anyway enough waffle hope you get it sorted
