Hi,

I'm after Air Compressor / Blower / Cleaner to clean out my desktops and other electrical equipment. Don't need anything powerful or massive ( needs to be small as possible) Been on a few sites but don't know what I'm after really. just want a mains Air compressor with a air hose on it, maybe a attachment to do car tyres with a psi gauge would be cool but not essential.

Any idea of what I need, price, advice would be greatly appreciated.

I honestly do not have one. I use it all the time at work though. Airguns are useful for everything!

The liquid in them is lubricant or it can also be moisture from the air. You can buy line driers which are basically filters. This scrubs it out and dries the air.

How much $$$ you talking for that set-up though?

I haven't tried one myself but I remember in every thread such as this they're always popping up, so they must be pretty good! :p

Google for "bestway sidewinder ac pump" and you should find one for £14~ ;)

This might just be me, but surely these electric pumps aren't a great idea? They sound a bit too much like using a vacuum cleaner to me which are notorious for static...
Or is there something I'm missing? If I could use an air bed pump it would be much cheaper than buying numerous cans of compressed air as I do currently.

A vacuum cleaner only generates static because its running over carpet etc. other than that its just a blower with a bag attached. Those cheap blowers should work fine :)

by which you mean a air bed blower?

I've used a hoover before and been fine.

That's my plan, just not sure how powerful they would be and if they would blast dust enough. Just after come clarification.

We use a small compressor at work for dust etc, can't find it anywhere, it's about the size of car battery charger and is fairly noisy, but you only run it for a minute or so at a time. Wasn't that expensive, but even the pricy ones pay for themselves in no time if you were previously using cans of compressed air...,
