Trying to retune one of our tv's so we can pick up the virgin on in the next room. We have the right cable, obviously don't need the rest of the channels because they are all getting switched off next week, so does anyone know what frequency virgin media transmits on, so we can retune it ready.

Trying an automatic tune but its still picking up all the other channels which will be useless as of next week

Help!

I assume this is a Virgin on freeview or some other fancy STD I mean STB?

Its just a basic wall mounted tv, no freeview involved, and we have the virgin media cable plugged in the back, but it needs to be tuned so we can pick up the virgin box in the next room.
Its a v+ box if that helps. If I get the make and model of that and the tv will that help?

Ahhh I get it now, so you've got the standard RF cable plugged in at the back yeah going from the main VBox in another room?

If that's the case then you just need to tune into the right RF frequency which is 52 (default).

Nope 52 didn't work, and I cant see any mention of 52 on the virgin box. Which label am I looking for.

On the box upstairs in my room, the rf channel label has 0 next to it.

That's just the label, the RF channel itself should be 52 - if you can't change it in the menus of the Vbox then you can change it via a little turn dial that you need to stick a small flat head screwdriver into next to the RF socket on the back of the box itself.

I surely don't need to do anything to the v plus box though because its transmitting its signal and I just need to get the other tv to tune into that and pick it up?

How is the main TV connected? I thought these boxes only had one RF out unless you're splitting it via a Y splitter?

The main tv works via one of the AV channels, this other tv is so basic it doesnt have that.

Unless RF out is disabled if another output is in use it should just be able to be tuned in!

iirc the V+ disables the RF out (or used to certainly) if the HDMI is in use, in which case it'll only (from memory) have the HDMI and the VCR scart active.

To change the RF channel on the output is a menu option, but i think is only visible when you are using non hdmi connections to the TV.

If the main TV is connected via HDMI the way round it is to either go back to using scarts, or to connect a small converter box to the VHS scart socket to change that to a normal RF out (if that makes sense).
