Honda accord fuel injector woes.

Update,

Refitted the new injector, with all new seals.

Started engine and same issues,

Checked spark plugs, they were black and overheated. Changed the spark plugs, cleaned inside of Distrubtor cap and Old leads ends.

Started car and all was back to normal. Took for test run and no misfire.

Still had ecu engine management light on, pulled fuse 13 out and inserted again. Light has gone out and not re appeared so far.

Thanks for all the advice guys, just goes to show you dont have to be a mechanic to fix all issues, just be prepared to listen and learn, above all take your time.

Note for you to remember in future.
Never trust the dealer!

Did you gap the spark plugs or just bung them in (betting you just bunged them in  )

Also hope you only "cleaned" the dizzy cap as described and not wire brushed or emery paper'd the contact points... Bad Mkay

How did you decide the old plugs were overheated? Black doesn't mean this, it's simply carbon deposits, which are a symptom of weak ignition, which would be your misfire.

NGK state you dont have to check the gaps, doesnt hurt in doing so, will do it in the future.

Dizzy cap, was no burn signs inside the cap. Sprayed WD40 inside as well as contact for the leads.

Judged they were overheating as the white bits of the plug has semi yellow marks on them, kinda like pre melting.

Suprised myself really in it all working as post comment:

If you need to ask this question i would suggest you find a local independent garage to carry out the work for you.

Kinda made me think twice.

Slight discolouration of the insulator is quite normal.

It's strong discolouration, blistering of the insulator and light coloured electrodes that show over-heating.

Had to gap my NGK plugs when I changed them on the focus. They were a mile out (70 thou which is a long way out) so IMO buy a set of feelers and check them everytime :) (and yes, they were the right plugs)

Where you live maty I have same car i know them well as Honda`s rule ;) (yes im a fan boy).

I all so have an obd2 kit here if ya can make it i live in Uk,oxfordshire we can plug it in and looky to see if its injector or not.

all righty then did not bother to read all of your post/replys.

glad its fixed ;).
