Personally, from the PoV of a Catholic (not a hardcore, just a normal lazy one), the Pope should have excommunicated the people involved and the authorities brought in to conduct an investigation into this serious claim instead of this pastoral letter BS.
 
Because there are too many of them, they would all start a war if we arrested the pope.

What they are doing to these children is pure torture it was pure evil.

Well it's difficult for the pope to excommunicate people for stuff when he's implicated in the cover up too. Everyone's involved really.

Do the maths, catholic believers = child abuse. We have started wars for lesser thing than skinning innocent children of their sacredness!!

It amazes me that people openly support an institution which is responsible for some of the worst causes of mass murder in history. I wouldn't mind if religion was made due to the supposed truth it preaches but instead it was an invention to get tax from all people who come under it under the premise of if you dont obey the church you WILL go to hell for being a bad person lol.

People need to wake up and assess if they really should get their moral values from such "examples"

He has major issues with religion, thinks it's the root of all evil and all that.

It's like claiming a "gun" is evil, an engineered object is evil, no, it's the people who use guns for evil "deeds" are the ones that are evil.

There are non-religious people who do such things, it's got nothing to do with religion, it's just how some people are.

As has already been said, some people are drawn to positions of power so they can do the bad things they want to do, it's common sense really.
 
While I do believe religion causes more harm than good in general, everyone should have the right to be "wrong".

It's the fact that they are loaded and pay no tax that annoys me.
Blatantly these organisations are about power and money and nothing to do with helping people.

There are Christian charities such as the salvation army but they aren't the church.

I have never seen any Christian/Muslim/Catholic/Jewish place of worship really doing any good in the community or anything like that and if they do it is we will feed you if you convert kind of thing and the money goes back to them???? Perhaps I am wrong but they need to make their good actions more known about, instead they are known for molesting kids.

No better than some form of pyramid scheme or cult really.

He's basically saying that he's read that Catholicism has roots in Pagan and old world religions, and that those in high places of Catholicism aren't "Catholics" in the same way an average "Catholic" person is.

The high ups in the Catholic church bare a strong resemblance to ancient Egyptians and so on.

Either way you look at it, they're corrupt and obviously have some ulterior motive.
