what power suply for 2 x 5850's

ive been waiting for fermi since september 2009 but as its failed ive been thinking of an ati card instead, or maybe 2.

would my corsair 850w psu be able to run 2 ati 5850's???

also, my next question is would this be faster that a gtx 480 in games and at tesselation??


ive always bought nvidia and the only ati card ive ever had was a 9600xt which was a great little card back in the day for playing need for speed underground 2

Your 850w psu can power 2 5870's no problem. Your rig will be pulling around 500w's from your psu

And, the 5850's in cf would whipe the floor with the gtx 480

Would a thermaltake toughpower 850w be able to run them? I know corsair PSU's are meant to be the best would the TT handle it?

The Thermaltake will be fine.

I pull 430w full load with crossfire 5850 and i7 @ 4ghz.
