ok, I've had my Razer Diamondback for probably about 6 years!

and I'm starting to feel it wear down though it still works perfectly (although I think I just want a new mouse as an excuse ;D)

so I'm looking for a gaming mouse for around £40, looking at the Roccat Kone V2 or the Razer Deathadder.

I'm swaying more towards the Deathadder because I've fallen in love with Razer products, and due to the fact this Razer has lasted me 6 years!

cheers.

edit - is it worth getting a mouse mat also?

I have a Diamondback3G at the moment but got a Deathadder for lefties on pre-order :) I use the Razer exactmat pad and it's pretty great as far as mouse mats go!

I use the Razer Lachesis its really smooth and comfy i find other mice wierd now would using them compaired to that one.

Plus it has a lot of reprogramable buttons all in easy to reach places.

And its worth getting a mouse matt, a good with will add to the gilde and feel of the mouse. I use the everglide titan, really good mat for the price.

Razer Deathadder, had mine pretty much since they came out, bought a Roccat Kone V2 for a change but after a week or so I went back to the Deathadder, can't fault it unless you like on the fly DPI changing.

Razer DeathAdder Respawn 3500dpi Xtreme Precision Gaming Mouse - Retail £35.74 1 £35.74
Razer Goliathus Alpha Speed Gaming Surface Mouse Pad £10.20 1 £10.20

:O £54 !!!! WTH !!

:D

Logitech MX518. Still one of the best mice around, and can be had for absolute peanuts :)

really fell out of love with all things Razer related, I just found them too flimsy for my liking. So instead I have been using the Roccat Kone It just feels a lot more substantial than what I tried with Razer and the price on OcUK is pretty good atm

I recommend the Logitech G500 mouse, it's the best mouse i'v had so far, its £47 @ OC

Been using it for 3 weeks now and its working perfectly, very precise. the software is very easy to use and has a lot of customizable settings. one thing i like is that you can save your settings to the on board memory on the mouse and take it to any pc without having to change the settings again.

I'm not kidding :D The perfect size, shape and weight. I use nothing
else.

Haha i use MS mice too, i used to use a Logitec mx 510 and hated the bloody thing, response seemed crap and my hand hurt for weeks.
MS mice do me just fine to the point others ask me what im using and when i tell them they call me a liar and i must be using the latest plutonium powered satellite tracking mouse that costs $5k:D

Deathadder + Razer Exactmat

Both have lasted me well over a year so far and showing no sign of wear

The Exact Mat is pricey but worth it, it's main of aluminium, is large, has an optional wrist rest which is worth the extra over just the mat itself, it has 2 surfaces smooth and...well not so smooth, 4 rubber feet on each side so it never moves, the wrist rest also has a mat that goes under the entire mat itself adding to stability of both.

MX518 / G500 or the G5 if you can get hold of one.

I use the G9x though, I rate it above those personally and I did use the G5 for 2 years prior to my G9.

The Deathadder is a worthy mention.
