Current system is a [email protected] Gigabye p35 DS4 and 4GB ram.

Looking to upgrade the graphic card so I can play crysis on very high on a 22 inch monitor. Don't want to spend anymore then £150 any suggestions will be appreciated;)

Also as the motherboard is p35 will this bottleneck the future graphic card as I dont think the slot is 2.1 pci express

The 5770 is certainly faster than your current card - but not by a massive ammount. You certainly won't be able to crank all the details of crysis up at your resolution. Here (and here) is a review comparing the two. I suggest that if you want a real upgrade in performance, save up a bit more and get a 5850.

Your PCIe slots on your P35 are not current generation, but their bandwidth is more than enough for modern cards - even a 5870 only sees a reduction in performance of 2% compared to a PCIe v2 slot.

It will be "playable" but not sure if enjoyable. Unless you turn AA off and play at low resolution 1680x1050 or smaller. Look up some reviews and try overclocking your CPU further to max out the performance of your rig. A 4890 would be a good choice too if you can pick one out for ~£150.

Well, imo you should get one 5770 now and when you save up and be ready to move to a more powerful platform (lets say Thuban X6 when they come out), you can max out performance of the whole rig. I havent seen any reasonably priced 4890s either. 5850 would be the best option if you can stretch your budget to it.

I'm not sure either that a 5770 will give you the performance jump your after.

I agree on the 5850 suggestion, a decent well respected brand psu for your pc and this new card would be about £60

Can't see anyhwere iwth 4890 in stock and would like something a bit more future proof my res is 1680x1050 and the cpu wont overclock any more as its a B3 stepping

Look for "XFX HD4890" in Google shopping and look at the one for £135.

thing is if i get a 5850 my ezcool 550 watt won't handle it I believe then a new psu for £80 will make it out of my budget

I would get a new PSU first and try out some games first before getting a new graphics card.

Something like one of the following should be a good choice:

Of course if you want to spend less then look for one of the OCZ PSUs although Corsair and Antec are better.

AH ok found the place you mean you ordered from there, will the 4890 cut it at very high on crysis at standard 22 inch res, kinda put off though by the delivery method citylink who always lie and say that you were out when you waited all day for them

Does anyone know why the 5770 has so much worse performance then a 4890 when on paper it should be the other way round

A 4890 is faster than a 5770, Its close to a 5850's performance.

Crysis is a tricky one, IMO no, you will need to drop back the detail @1650 x 1080, but it depends what you consider to be playable frame rate.
