Volvo sold to Ling Long Corp

I thought is it was Geely who have Volvo. Didn't know they also produced those fantastic grippy Ling Long tyres as well, should be nice as standard fitment. Upgrade from 16in Michelin HP Primacy to 17in Ling Long Ditchfinders for £50.

it seems they'll be letting volvo carry on pretty much as before in europe (see JLR), but building volvos for their own/eastern markets in china

The Automotive industry is going to be a very changed thing when the recession is all over.

That said it's only the US companies who suffered, but they went and sold the stuff we buy to dodgy outfits in asia.

Italy, France and Germany are doing just fine, and even snapping up shares of the US companies.

The UK didn't have an automotive industry to loose, we managed that years ago.

Then the European operation would be losing millions. I doubt that long term they're very commited to this.
