The name might not mean anything to most but anyone who is a reader and collector of Judge Dredd will. I am such a collector.

John Hicklenton has died at the age of 42 after a 10 year battle with MS and decided to end his life at a Dignitas clinic in Switzerland. He was a noted artist in the Judge Dredd / 2000AD publications.

Awful illness and I hope he has found peace.

A colleague of mine is borderline obsessed with Judge Dredd and has a load of original artwork and commissions in his collection. He was telling me about this the other day, quite sad for someone with such obvious talent :(

No doubt you'll have seen some of his work as he posts most of what he has done online. I give him some stick for having a bit of a geeky hobby, but in all honesty I think a lot of it is really interesting.

I read about this the other day, in situations like this I struggle to find any meaningful argument that could persuade me that euthanasia is a bad idea. It just seems morally right (for want of a better phrase) that people should have the ability to end their life where they are suffering from an illness that renders their quality of life to be so poor.

RIP.

I didn't know him or know of him, but he was only a year younger than me. I guess he discovered 2000AD at roughly the same age as me.

It is an obsession almost.

I collect Judge Dredd and The Punisher.

*starts to get the picture of the sort of officer Von is* :o

I want to read mroe uk comics but the only ones i read read are bleach and naruto because i've read them from the start can;t get into any other manga or comic really :(

LOL.

I was waiting for someone to say that Tefal.

I assure you that my methods are quite mundane compared to Judge Dredd.

As for The Punisher, I cannot condone vigilantism but I can definitely read about it. ;)

You can get the reprinted Dredd stories through the Casefiles that start from his first appearance in the late 1970s.
