Just got it and settings on max eveything as 5870 card and i7, scenery looks a bit washed out and not vibrant as I would expect with my PC-
do you think you could post your settings if you have similar spec especially what AA vsync anistropic stuff etc etc should idealy be at to have max enjoyment.
thanks

Go to my documents/bc2 folder and edit the gamesettings.ini file. Change the Directx mode to 11. I have the game on max and it's brilliant.

None of those settings will have any effect on the vibrancy of scenery, just stick everything on max if you can run it and enjoy. Why do you need to ask us? Can't you just test them yourself.

I need to ask because I put everything on max and it looks a bit washed out, I have an i7, 5870, 6gb Ram plus the game defaulted some settings on medium and not max so maybe other settings change things overall?

Thanks Wes, that looks useful and seems the only way to get it using DX11?
must be some reason my game looks washed out

Sounds like you need to play around with your brightness and contrast settings more than anything else. I have my contrast quite high and my brightness quite low

It may be your monitor, the game does look kind of washed out anyway. Can you take a screenshot so we can see? If it looks washed out to us then yeah you have a software problem, otherwise it's probably your monitor.

*sigh* the game isnt in my prog files on win 7-is that normal? I have to do a search to play it:mad::mad::mad:
also cant see the dxmode in gamesettings:mad:
why have these things got to be so difficult- I can see why some like consoles (hate them personally but they never get these kind of issues)

Try out the Gossamer Launcher tool (now v.1.1), set everything to max and launch. 5870 at 1680x1050 for me is around the 50fps mark average depending on the map. I have to set 2xAA, 4xAF HBAO off to keep 50fps at 5348x1050 but still looks great :D

unrelated question but is there a way to set default servers filters? ..as in not full, not empty and stuff like that?
and also is there a way to set a default weapon/equipment setup for each class so i don't have to set them up everytime i load the game up and join a server?

in the ingame server browser I get NO pings on any servers, anyone else get this? makes it hard to choose a close one and have ended up with pings of 150 in game which sucked big time
