Well i always aim for the upper body and head. I find in hardcore a headshot is a headshot were as normal is more difficult. Maybe its the servers i am using i try to stick with UK servers. I dont like playing hardcore all the time though. looks like i will have too if it takes so many rounds to kill someone.

In normal you have to consistently hit the upper body / head over several shots to come out on top, in hardcore you just have to hit them anywhere with fewer shots.

Do a little test pretend you're holding a rifle.

Hold it to your shoulder like all soilders/police/shooters do now hold it at your hip ala scar face.

You seriously telling me you can aim in anything more than*roughly that-a-way* without even being able to see your rifle?

No but this is a computer game with a reticle so you know were your aiming. In real you obviously need to aim.

No, you're pointing that general direction, whilst firing from the hip you have less control over the gun, therefore you have a higher percentage of missed shots.

This is a battlefield game, there is little difference when firing from shoulder or hip.
 
hip fire isnt spray if you get it right and saves time getting aim up. a lot of old school games were like this and you will finds a lot of old school players play this way.

its just as accurate if practiced .

notice the big space inside the reticle?

That;s the area where the bullets may go.

It's pretty big, much bigger than a person on the screen. so a good proportion no the bullets are going to miss them.

Especially when moving + firing rapidly.


Although funny you say it's a computer game and so you shouldn't be able to aim fro mthe hip, yet taking more than 1 bullet to kill somone is silly because it's unrealistic :/

For the first couple of bullets maybe, but I get the feeling the recoil penalty of shooting from the hip is greater. Firing in quick bursts seems to work well whether you aim or shoot from the hip. The professionals would never empty a clip in one go except to cause a distraction/keep peoples heads down. Firing a whole clip is not the way forward in reality.

Me, don't like hc at all
 
hip firing is only sensible if youve got the extra accuracy perk and youre about a foot from the person
i feel the same about hc, i find it incredibly boring. just most of the time get caugfht by someone holding a house. i appreaciate it (turns the game into somethign completley different) i just dont like being killed by someone as im runnign over a road because hes a sat there all game or b hes just seen the back of my arse, slapped off a few rounds and killed me
 
Had my first rage quit of this game last night, Rush mode on africa coast as attackers, it was 6 vs 16 and they had stolen two of our tanks plus had their own constantly spawn killing us. After asking several times for people to balance it and then seeing people join the game on our team and then switch, i was just too frustrated to play.

Might give it another go later when the anger fades :)
