I went up to Caerwent to service for a friend on Sunday, and just noticed the official pics have been put up on EDP Photo (we weren't allowed to take pics as it's an Army training base).
Some nutter had decided it was a good idea to enter in a Discovery!. I can only assume a lot of beer was involved in that decision. The guy driving it was a bit of a looney, hammering into bends all locked up and then exiting very sideways indeed. Sadly (and predictably) he retired early.
There was also a V6 Freelander that sounded almost exactly like a 6R4 (i.e. wonderful), and was actually pretty quick.
This is my friends Clio, which is a completely standard 1.8 16V with a 2.0 Williams engine. He was seeded 91st and finished in 36th, which was a very impressive result considering the machinery he was up against, and considering 1st gear gave up after the first few stages.
This is a pic of his dads rather battered, but phenomenally quick Pug 205 at Colerne last year. Unfortunately it's been rather unreliable for the past couple of years, but then again it's pushing almost 280bhp from a normally aspirated 2.0 16v.
