is there just too many games being released now days? I can remember when there was not much to buy and i played pretty much the same game over and over.

But now it seems to me I buy a game play for couple of weeks then something new comes along so i pick that up and play that then something else pops up or is reduced in a steam sale :) so i get that. It also doesn't help when i buy for 3 formats PC,PS3,Wii(for my son ;))

I keep telling myself don't buy anymore but i always do! Can now i just can't decided what to play hence I'm writing this!

Anyone else suffer this?

I'll get your coat, labratt :D
I've got too many games, I buy games in sales and then just never get time to play them. I've got so many games I haven't even started yet and I just buy and play new ones :S I really should stop buying cheap games and just buy the ones I definitely want :D

It's busy at the moment because a lot of companies decided not release at Christmas (blame MW2 for that) and are pushing things out now instead.. looks like the coming months will be a lot quieter.. so time to catch up :)

they may be a lot coming out at the moment but there seem to be a lot of the same crap, all packaged in a different way
eg;

infamous/prototype
@ Rids i agree BC2 is the first game that has kept me occupied for a while.

yeah because bc2 is so original...

i agree too many good games to play people that dont see that simply grew out of gaming

There are many, many more games being released these days. The amount of good games appears to have not changed though! :p

I have a pretty large Steam collection, mostly through the Steam £20 for a stack of games deals. 80% I dismiss out of hand for being utter crap or something I am not interested in. The remaining games consist of those that I get bored of very quickly. The best game I have played recently is Dawn of War II. I look forward to Chaos Rising whenever I get around to buying it!

The more (quality) games the merrier. I almost always try each beforehand, so I only buy about a half-dozen a year, as I'm so darn discerning, busy, and tight on cash. :p Would love to buy at a slightly higher frequency, so bring 'em on! :D

Mass Effect 2 Collector's Edition is my latest purchase, btw. :)

Ive not bought either DOW2 chaos rising or mass effect 2 yet due to the fact I've got quite a few games I've not really had a proper go at lol. My steam list is massive now and if I had to install all the games it would probably eat about 200gb of my hdd space.

I use to be a big RTS fan and liked playing skirmishes against the PC instead of other players and didn't really enjoy even playing against other players over the internet on anything other than quake 3 up until recently lol. Most new games now either focus on the single player or the multiplayer but rarely both. BFBC2 is a nice exception for me as I really enjoyed the single player and was suprised at the difficulty and length of it + the multiplayer is pretty good

Steam seems responsible for making me buy games. Anyone remeber prey at Xmas selling out? I was one of the few that got it yet don't play it anymore. Sigh...

Not the only one. I would be funny if Steam ever released the statistics for games that were bought but never even installed by the users!

I've got too many games, 127 on steam alone, a few hundred on my shelves.

I'll slowly be working my way through the list of games I haven't played, which currently stands at about 90% of my collection.

I've actually got all my steam games installed as well giving me a steam folder size of 275GB.

I have to agree, I havent even played/finished half my games because the next -big thing- comes out and I cain that and forget about everything else ><

I'm always playing catch up. I rarely get newly released games as I'm always playing games that are like 3-12 months old and I like to finish what I started before playing something new.

I'm in a simlair boat, my 1000 gig hard drive is nearly full from games and i dont even have them all installed.

My gf moves in 3 weeks so i'm trying to get as many of them done as i can, I'm about half way through dragon age, i got all of the sqaud memebers on mass effect 2 and jsut stoped playing it for some reason. Barely started batman aa.

The games i wanna finsh in 3 weeks are

Dragon age (half way through)
Mass effect 2 ( nearly finshed i think )
crysis warhead ( nearly finshed)
Batman aa ( just started)
bioshock 1 ( not really started it)
half life 2 games ( not really started them either)
All the recent cod games i wanna finsh on signle player.
Brothers in arms hells highway ( nearly finshed)

On ps3

Metal gear ( just started )
Kill zone 2 ( nearly finshed )
final fantasy ( about 10 hours in)
imfamous

Gonna be a tough ask i think, i am thinking if i finsh all the rpgs first i will be able to finsh the fps games pretty quick. My gf likes console games more then pc so i am hoping she will help me finsh the console games :) My trouble is i tend to play games on the hardest setting and they taker longer to finsh then they should.

Currently have about 28 games to play through, though to be fair most of them are games bought when on special offer on Steam. I do want to play through Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 so there's enough there to keep me occupied for quite a while.
