Guys and girlies (yes, you),

I've heard that rules and laws on 'Shot Girls' are changing and being made illegal, and that you can only be a shot girl/guy if you have a bar license?

Can anyone confirm this? or link to any documentation offering more info? I've had a google, but to no avail.

Many Thanks :)
Jake

On that topic - the local council have apparently banned such things as yards of ale, and over the top shots. We all like a shot here, but so many in a certain time period is now deemed illegal?

Those women who wander around offering shots to people? I have no idea otherwise unless it means bodyshots which I'm guessing it's not.

Are they the young, good looking girls with not much on who wander about trying to get you to buy little shots for a few pounds?

* I speak of the ones I've seen.

Shot girls are the ones that walk around in a bar with a bottle of some sort of spirit, normally a fruity kind, like a mixer, and offering to sell it at £1 a shot, they sometimes serve it in a plastic test tube.

Right, so 10-12 posts in and we have managed to establish what a shot girl is :p

OCUK Is on form tonight :D

A bar in Edinburgh used to do something called Rock Beast which was a mixture of alcoholic drinks but got banned. They used to go around the bar selling it at £1 a shot. With the shot girl of course.

Wow, I'm from essex and I didn't even know that, cut OcUK some slack!

I'm surprised that you can effectively serve drinks to someone without a bar license, it's pretty much the same thing right?

Technically they are within the premises that holds the licence, as the licence isn't limited to behind the ACTUAL bar itself, nor the licence apply to named employee. It is given to the address/business and i presume anyone who is of legal age to serve alcohol and is employed by that business can serve alcohol within the boundary of that premises.

Sound?

So if they outlaw the Shotgirls, what principles are they applying?

Aye agreed. They never take no for an answer as well **** off.

I laughed at this as its sooooo true. Theres a bar in the centre of my town (hull) called baracuda which has 2 or 3 of these girls with a bag filled with aftershock and no matter how many times you say "no thanks" they keep banging on like a broke record -.-

Shot table owns shot girl.

40 shots on a long table in a row, you have to down the lot, you dont pay if you manage to get to the end ;)

Think it was at BZR or something in Nottingham.
