these hectic winds and low temps are helping my oc'd system like mother teresa back in the day. i have my i7 920 at 4.2 and my xfx (asus now, according to the bios) hd 5870 at 949/1220. i am using a tuniq tower 120 extreme cpu cooler, all in an antec 1200 case. Currently my cpu is idling at 36/37, and gpu at 29. IBT 8 thread test/100% my cpu only reached 71c max. Gpu load after 1hr half bfbc2 was 63, which im happy with.
Best bit about this all is i only have my window a tiny bit open, and all the cold air seems to flow almost under my bed and straight to the case. the top part of my body is warm, but my feet are paying.
So i dont care if this weather lasts a bit longer. anyone else reaping the benefits?
Bet geforce 470/480 pre-order owners are wishing they had their cards

If I understand, you are freezing your feet off for any extra couple of a frames per second and from your perspective, that's a win... :-). Personally I value my circulation too much

Back when it was fairly chilly outside I did an experiment as to how low I could get my CPU by putting it right next to the window, heating off etc.

End result was something like 10c idle and 22c load =D
I was tempted to put it outside to see what happened, but my window ledge isn't flat and I wasn't risking £600 worth of PC on it!

My Terraced house lays in such a way that my front room Never gets warm & I mean Never. :D
On top of that when you sit at my desk you get a breeze in the face that is bouncing off the back wall when it is exhausted from my system. :p
Yes my system Does sound like a Hovercraft. :D

My living room gets the sun most of the day, at the moment its 19'c with one of the small top windows open = idle > 30'c - 34'c i7 920 4GHz.

I'm a student, this means my temps in winter are very low. Someone did put the heating on for 5 hrs the other day while attempting to turn the hot water on, and my OC was still solid despite temps reaching 80C :O
