Fire at BT's North Paddington Exchange

I'm aware of it, I'm currently slightly unclear if the large scale datastream outage also ongoing (38k lines or so) is directly related but either way that's the bigger issue right now...

Description of Outage:

Several BBLCs terminating to Reading and Harbour Exchange are down.

All datastream customers terminating on rdg-0-dsl, he-1-dsl, and he-2-dsl, are affected by this outage.

** 12:17 : 437 exchanges have been confirmed as affected by this outage, Customer Services have received a document detailing affected exchanges.

** 12:30 : BT have taken the decision to close North Paddington Exchange due to flooding , LLU services provided by Tiscali at this exchange only are experiencing the same issues as above.

***Update 13:45***

Was affecting me for some of today; currently doing a VMware course and it knocked out the ISP link the training provider use for their internet ... unfortunately we were connecting to their labs over it.

Fortunately they got us connected via another route this afternoon.

I live right near it and am on paddington exchange, hopefully instead of installing a old crappy copper box and then replacing it in a year with a fibre optic one, they will do this straight away.
Bt infinity

Only on internet as connecting to someone over wifi

***Update 20:25***
We have had an update from BT. They are saying that it may take up to 4 days to resolve the fault. They will be able to give a more definite time frame to fix once they are allowed inside the site by the fire department.

Looking at the list of exchanges affected, there's a lot on there, but I notice High Wycombe isnt but all the surrounding area is. Im wondering if we have so additonal redundancy due to the massive RAF base.

It has affected our SDSL connection, and we are in Eastleigh! Normal ADSL is fine though so I have spent the morning re-routing everyone. Fun!
