Hi, all.

Are there any good/reliable Ford tuning specialists in Birmingham/surrounding area?

I'd like to find guys that can remap/modify the engine on my C-MAX that I don't have to drive to Surrey/Sussex to reach.

And yes, I know I drive a family car.

2.0 Duratec HE. Naturally aspirtated, 147bhp.

Same engine as the Fiesta ST, I think (yes, I know there is a supercharger kit for that, but it weighs in at around £3k).

Remap will only get me 5% at best guess, with head/cam work required for anything above that.

If its the same engine.
and this is for reference.

Mountune take the fiesta ST to 180bhp for approx £1.8k.

Using,

Air filter
Exhaust+manifold+sports cat
Cams+uprated springs
Cosworth inlet manifold
Remap

It keeps the ford warranty.

Waste of cash on the engine, not going to make any difference what so ever. If you not willing to spend £3k on supercharger, your not goiing to get much for your cash with anything else.

Save your cash :)

2.0L NA is a pain when it comes to tuning, but the rude spike in torque at 3800rpm is just a bit annoying.

I would like to flatten that out (or at least bring it in more gradually), uprate the brakes and suspension, etc. A supercharger isn't out of the question, but just means more time required (both to amass the disposable income and build).

Well I appreciate that but it just seems a little odd that you are considering supercharging a Ford C-Max! Why not get a second car to tune?

NO worries, dude - just the same as outlined above, really.

It's a nice car to drive, it's great for shuttling kids about, the missus likes it, etc.

I can't get another car as I already drive a Mercedes E-Class for work, and nobody ever seems to hot-rod (cough) people carriers (yes, I'm aware there is normally a good reason... something to do with driving dynamics and brick-shaped objects).

As far as I'm concerned the car will have little trade-in value regardless, is out of warranty and feels a little asthmatic.

EDIT: And thanks for the pumabuild link!

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but trying to get a noticeable improvement in performance from a 2.0 N/A lump in a Ford MPV will be like trying to get blood from a stone. :p
