Dilemma.. What would YOU do?

You've spent more on two vid cards then I've spent on a whole new system.... lol I waited three years before I upgraded as well, and even then my latest upgrade - spec in my sig was a gift and I didn't pay for it... wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise...

Man, enjoy your new purchase but damn thats a lot of money on graphics alone...

I know mate but have been working hard lately and deserve it :D

I shall provide benchmarks ;)

Two 5970s!!! You must have a screen the size of a house. I'd say don't do anything rash, either option is a lot of money, I'd say wait for a couple of months, they'll probably sort out whatever this eyefinity thing is (sorry I haven't a clue), and then you'll still be able to get the other option too possibly for cheaper.

You know, I too can play Crysis on my rig... and at average 47fps 1920 1080 high or very high details for some of the game..... lol

Nah, if you've got the spare cash then go for it if its what you love. To me, it seems a lot of dosh but then I'm skint now so I'd be bound to say this... lol

Oh, plus my gf would kill me if i'd spent £1000 on vid cards. I value breathing more then frames per second.. :D

Honestly mate my missus would murder me. I brought one home the other week and she was like WTF IS THAT, told her it was an old GPU lying around at work :)

Need a new excuse for this new one..

How about you are benchmarking cards for a review. You're in the process of testing quadfire. :D

The fact that she doesn't know that quadfire doesn't tend to scale well doesn't matter. ;) This review you are doing requires two cards and a lot of time spent on the many new dx11 titles that are coming out. So this justifies you 'borrowing' the cards for what....say about two years. :D

Would doubt the performance increase is needed. I game happily at 5040x1050 on one 5870, yea two would be better but only for BC2 or Crysis so i cant imagine ur struggling on a 5970. I would say if u have to spend some money, buy a 128GB SSD boot and games drive, more RAM and a better cooler so u can get ur CPU up to 4GHz.

Someone on here def has 5970+5870 tri-fire working nicely tho so u might like to search for that, may help for insane amounts of AA...

My gf isn't stupid...... She'd look it up on the internet, and then I'd be rumbled...

Still, if you need to hide it from the gf then maybe you shouldn't be buying it... lol:p

Actually, I'm joking. Its his money. However reason for my comment is that we're trying to save for a new house and £1000 on vid cards will pee her off just a tad... And can't say I blame her either...

Let us know how it performs... Lucky bugger. :D
