What do you have against WASD?

I like having my hands closer togeather, I don't like having a full size keyboard between my hands. Also wasd don't quite line up like the arrow keys. (I started playing FPSs back in the doom days). By using a key pad, I can use wasd as far as the game is concerned, but I also get what is for me a more comfortable hand position. (More like the postion both hands would be in while typing.)

It's a personal thing, and I can understand why some people never shifted from using the arrow keys to wasd, but most of the time you will start running out of keys in that part of the keyboard which is why wasd is so popular. Anyway I have a happy medium now, the G13 also has the logitech screen which is useful to see who's joined vent etc etc.

I'm left handed and use the keyboard pad naturally. I'd be distraught if I didn't have that nice even square of keys for movement surrounded by a larger square for all the extra functions :)

Give up with this game until I upgrade , I cannot get a steady 40/50fps

I can't see anything else there that I can do that doesn't make the game look like something from 10 years ago.

Try upping your render ahead limit to 2 or so.

You could also try running it in windowed mode with a slightly lower res.

Next up you could probably lower a few more settings to low without it really looking much worse (for example, undergrowth).

What are your system specs btw? edit: Saw your sig. Have you overclocked your CPU as much as possible?

In my sig :p
Havent overclocked it full stop , dont know how to really :/

I wonder if SYStem Configuration will do anything better, on the cmd.exe prompt, type in msconfig /all under the TAB boot, click on Advanced Options, a box will appear getting windows to use all CPU cores ie, Number off Processors, I have mine at Eight, its a I7 CPU.

this may give you some perfomance boost.

It's prob worth reading up on. I imagine that your CPU is the main thing holding you back.

The GTS250 should be able to deal with the graphics on medium very easily. It's just the low cpu speed that's knackering things.

Same with me really. I've not used WSAD for around 8 years or so. It feels so unnatural now. I do have a strange setup though... In all the FPS games I play I use the up and down arrow for forwards and backwards but the delete and end key for strafing left and right .

Does anyone else find that the more they play the less relevant vehicles are? In some servers it almost seems like infantry only as Tanks are pretty much mobile coffins due to the tightness of most of the maps. You really can't go anywhere in one without getting a uav or rpg lockon seconds after getting into it.

The helis as we all know are wallowy pieces of crap that have the agility of a crippled elephant and the flight ceiling of a hobbit. Even the uav when you hit your flight ceiling its like a rubber ball effect and you get knocked down in height substantially even though you have the button held in to go up.

Infantry combat is better but to me it really doesn't feel much like a BF game, vehicles take far too much of a back seat due to the tiny maps we have to play with and with some of the new gadgets theyve implemented means taking out vehicles is laughably easy. :(

Love an el-alemain remake for tank battles but i doubt this engine could do it.

I find sometimes best to stay at a distance with tanks etc and shell from there, there's an unlock which gives you a zoom in scope for vehicles.

can someone help me?

For the life of me I cannot get my UAV to fly FORWARDS. It's ******* me off now... The only direction it will fly is backwards no matter what :S

here is my control setup

I could do with some help as It's getting to the point where I cant even use the UAV as I have to turn my UAV the opposit way around just to go in the direction I want to go

I also cant get the alternate fire to work either?

I think you might need to change settings IN VEHICLE from wsad to arrow keys.
I think it's classed as a vehicle.
As said before you need to enable the alt fire in your perks, thats if you have it unlocked (i think its an unlock)

I agree. Last night I started playing around with recon trying to unlock some stuff and was doing the C4+Quad = LOL tactic. It was great fun (until they realised my tactic after 4/5 tank deaths and started shooting at me) :D

In BF2 for example vehicles were a lot more dangerous, especially the Helli's and Planes. Having said that I hated planes and in BF2 most of the time I played the ground level, urban/forest maps with the occasional chopper in for good measure. I didn't even touch the 100% vehicle maps (yawnfest imo).

I like the infantry style combat of BF series and glad they have focused on it for BC2, although, I do think numerous things could be done to improve it and make it better.

Somewhere between BF2+BC2+Things DICE NEED to fix would equal a game with unparalleled awesomeness.

Indeed but its far too easy for an engi to spot you and lob that tracer dart at you. Only map that you can sometimes have a decent tank battle on is atacama but even then it usually ends up with the tanks gangraped by rpg's.

Some of the bugs in this game are really starting to **** me off now. AA doesn't work at all, even if you ******* force it, same with vsync which is even more annoying. Theres no option to turn off the rubbish double tap sprint instead of just using shift which gets me killed at least 5 times per game and the glare bug on one of the conquest maps makes it basically unplayable.
