The i7 920 is £199.99

The ANTEC new truepower 650w has a better selection of pci-e connections.

Get the 5850.

Noted. Aiming for the 650 because the future GPU isnt set. So may go for something more beefy. plus I expect to add more HDDs etc later, so want a little head room.

Thanks for the tip on the truepower... does look better. cheaper too!

Yes its really good, custom pc gave it first place in their 650w psu round up.

Better than using ugly adaptors from the 4pin molex!

Thanks for the tip on the HDD and Cooler. However, dont trust sammys, had 2 start vibrating and resonating on me. Wont be tempted by a 3rd. May upgrade to SSD when the price is right so the 1tb will become storage.

As for the cooler.... used the pro 7 a lot so probably will stick with it. I really really cant fault them for the price. They are silent, keep the CPU cool and as said, are half the price of other coolers.

Yeah, going for that Truepower 650. great price, great spec. Thanks :D

Whats the difference between the sata II WD Black and the 6gb/s Sata WD Black?

In terms of real world difference... i am assuming its negligible...?

You need to have a motherboard with sata6gb connections.

The one you listed is I think, harddrives will never be able to saturate that connection.

Some SSD can, so its nice to have it on the motherboard.

Are you looking at the 64mb black? Its seriously fast.

Well... I thought that traditional HDDs werent even close to SATAII, so why they are advertising 6gbs is beyond me. As you say.... SSD territory.

And yeah, was thinking about that WD Black 64mb... but its preorder at the mo. Wonder when its out...

A molex to 6 pin pcie can be had off a little know auctioning website for 99p, I think the 5850 comes with one too! Might be worth it for the sake of 19 quid!

sorry slightly off topic : I have my 5850 connected to the PSU using BOTH the connections on the 5850 is this right? should it just be 1 connection for the 5850 to the PSU which will then allow me to upgrade to CrossFire and run 2 x 5850 with each having 1 connection to the PSU?

Preorder. Checked another shop too, same deal. hmm... well this stuff wont arrive until probably the 6th now. may hold off on the HDD until i can find more info about it.

You get free delivery anyway! Order everything and wait just for the drive.

The normal black 1tb is still fast.

Yeah, found a review for the 64mb version. It sounds like its more WD updating their line up to have the 6gbs interface etc. Performance gains were minor if any at all over the current version.
