Quad SLI gtx 480?

If its the same as the GTX2XX series (not including the GTX295) you will be limited to 3 cards in Tri SLI - at least working together in terms of gaming.

4 GPU in SLI was only possible with the GTX295 in SLI (2 GPU per card)

The main requirements if it were possible are the SLI motherboard (with 4 PCI-E x16 slots - 2 will probably run at x8 speed), very fast processor to prevent cpu bottlenecks (4GHZ+ Core i7 as a minimum) and a very high powered PSU (the cards alone will draw ~ 1200W at full load if not more).

hmm special requirements..

1) a way of hookin up your cards directly to your local power station to power them

2) a house in the antarctic to stop your pc settin on fire due to the heat when you turn it on

3) ear plugs.... lots of em... that would be one loud setup!!

all that asside... would be quite a beastly setup!, (tho not currently possible to setup quad sli on these cards)

EVGA did do a special gtx285 that did 4 way sli, but the card had to be taken away and modified like EVGA did, so i assume you can't at this early stage.

If you look closely you will see 4-Way SLI in the PDF sheet for the EVGA GTX480

You'll need to watercool them, in 4 seperate loops :D and have a good mobo with 4 16x PCI-E slots :D and probably 2 PSU's for the entire system. but it should work...

Okay, to some it up folks lol.... 4 x gtx 480 = £1800
4 x water blocks = £440
Fantastic watercooling loop = £300 (probz even more)
Silverstone 1500w psu = £280
Motherboard = £400
Sum = £3220

Then, you still got to buy the rest of the computer.... You are looking at like £6000 alltogether. Hmmm :/
