OK, I really want to get some quite old classic sci-fi films for my film collection - ones I really only slightly remember from my childhood. Watched these all during my childhood but can't remember their names and only remember very very sporadic details! They are all feature films not TV programs. Any help - anyone know what any of these films are so I can go and buy them?
Going off memory, here's the story-line details I remember from YEARS ago ..
1) Basically an alien lands and looks like this women's husband (who is dead by the way). They then have to travel miles to get to somewhere across the US where a spaceship picks him up. On route he does lots of cool alien like stuff like make a hunted (and dead) deer come back to life. She falls for him, blah blah!
2) Some bloke wins a arcade game and aliens turn up and say 'Woa dude you are awesome you've got to come into REAL space and shoot the bad guys for real'
3) HARDEST ONE - hardly remember anything. Some kid, there's something wierd about him (he may be an android or something). Then near the end he breaks into a US airforce base, nicks a SR-71 blackbird, flies it around for a while before ejecting into a lake, so he can go see his mum (!!!)
4) Some kid somehow gets into a big silver spaceship and zooms around (no-one else can get in, but when he gets to the ship it kind of forms 'stairs and a doorway' out of liquid metal so he can get in (!!). When he gets in the ship says 'which way' and he says 'take me 20 miles away' and the ship goes straight up, into space. Then he says 'No, take me back' and the ship flies down to where it was. Then he starts flying it horizintally and it all very groovy as the music kicks in and he zooms around!
5) Couple move to new town. All the women are a bit wierd, like, amazingly nice to their husbands and never moan about anything(!!). New women ends up stabbing one as she's acting wierd, and it turns out she is a robot, and the women are being killed and replaced with robots that LOOK like the women but are more agreeable to their blokes(!)
6) Like the terminator but earlier made. And set in some theme park I think with 'Western' land and 'Roman' land. Basically the last half hour is the big bad 'terminator-esque' robot going hell for leather trying to kill the goodies.
7) There's small metallic baddy-controlled spider robots that jump onto goodies and inject them with nasty stuff. Oh and homing in bullets. And in one scene the baddies are chasing the goodies, and the baddies open a slot in the bottom of their car and drop a floating robot through, which then zooms off ahead and tries to blow up the goodies car! I can hardly remember any of this one! Theres a scene where they're stuck in an outside lift and a few 'nasty injecting spider robot thingies' give them some grief ..
8) A bloke plays his cello (oh er) and the sounds travels through the flat and into another room, where a computer starts jamming with him, then a really cool rock song starts! (you couldn't make this lot up!)
9) Old blokes feel really old, then for some reason start feeling younger and younger when they go swimming in the swimming pool. It's got something or other to do with aliens as well as I remember
10) Hero (he's blond and tall I remember) has a explosive collar attached, he's in prison. He's linked to someone else, if they get split up by more than 100m their heads explode!! He finds out who he is 'linked' to and run away from evil prison .. excitement ensues!
And thats it.
Any help greatly appreciated. I'd love to watch these films again, and destroy my rose-tinted spectacles as I realise how awful they actually were!
