Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forums but i am always on it, But from what i have seen most people on it know there stuff :P

I am not looking for someone to spec me a computer just your opinions please :)

I have a budget of between £1300 and £1500 inc vat for a new PC, This pc will just be used for games on a single screen.

I was looking at Titan Dreadnough at (1364.96 Inc Vat)

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-132-OE&groupid=43&catid=1444&subcat=

This is with 80Meg SSD and gtx 480

For the price i feel it is a good pc but on the other hand i could build a 5850 xfire rig for about the same with out psu. I currently have a Corsair HX620 Do you know if this would be enough for an i7 and two 5850s ?

If you guys were me what would you do ?. I am looking to buy my PC next week and i want to get it right :)

Thank you in advance

Grant

P.S, I have keyboard, Mouse and Monitor.

Interesting as I too am looking at jumping in again with a similar budget. Personally I'd go with the 5850 option given the cost and reviews of the new NV cards. The SSD is definitley the right way to go. Any reason for going for a pre-built system?

I think the PSU will be ok but I'm sure someone else can give you a definite answer on that...

personally I would go custom built, as in build it myself. :)

Main reason for custom build is that you can specify your own components and build the PC exactly how you want and to your budget

I wouldn't go SSD yet because if you're playing games you will need storage (some games can be pretty big) and 80GB seems quite small these days

The 5850 I would go with too
:)

Just have a big mechanical drive for other stuff and use an SSD for boot drive and the main apps/games you use. Having put one on the laptop I'm typing on I wouldn't go back...like night and day!

How many PCIe connectors does the HX620 have?
It Has 2

From what i can tell if you added all the parts up it would come to about that value anyway.

I think i will go for the build your own rig as it would let me pick my parts and have warrantys on each part and not just a years warranty on the Full PC

I would get a
i7
Patriot 6gb
Gigabyte EX58A-UD3R
Intel X-25m
Case of your choice
5870
Samsung f3 1tb

Then add your psu and your good to go

Agree, i got a 5870 recently(vapor-x model, runs very very quiet and very good temps) and it's more than enough for gaming at 1920x1200 or 1920x1080.

Your psu would handle it easily, cf 5850s should be fine too for it.Also i got a pre-built system from here, built extremely good and have had 0 issues with it.
