ATI 10.3 drivers wiill not install

all it says is driver install: the inf file was not found and gives me a error log..its for the vapor x 5870 oc version...anyone got any ideas thanks.

Have you uninstalled the old drivers properly?

well used the unistall program that came with it and a program called driver sweeper from guru 3d...is there any other utils i can use to check this thanks

ok i have them installed....i installed the catalyst and it said inf file was not found so i then went to the device manager and it said it was a standard vga card...so i then installed it from there and pointed it to the ati folder and pointed it to the driver from there...problem now is battlefield bc2 will not play it keeps crashing and showing like a grey/green screen with thin pinstripe lines down it...is it possible i need to install that game again thanks.

Why is it that almost every driver issue thread has the OP using driver sweeper - the app must be really ****!

Classic example of DriverSweeper messing things up & is the only time that i had that inf problem was when i used DS.

See if you can system restore to the old drivers before the DS & then install the new drivers right over the top, it worked for me.

ahhh see i worked it the other way i was just about to format my pc.....think ive fixed the bad company 2 as well turned vsync off.....what does that do anyway lol

sounds more like the setup isn't extracted properly to me i have had same issues before and a redownload of the driver sorted it never had a single issue ever with driver sweeper and ati drivers

Vsync limits frames per second to the monitors refresh rate to help eliminate screen tearing a sort of graphical corruption of lines on the screen
so most lcd now are 60hz = 60 fps max with vsync on
