Hey,

I've just bought myself a Ford Focus (collecting Monday) to replace my aging Mk3 Fiesta, which I've been driving about 11 months, so that means I'm 1 month short of a years NCB, can I change my insurance details to cover my new car for the final month? And if so, what kind of cost would I be looking at (admin + additional premium, currently paying £750, new car is about £1000 without a years NCB)? My premiums drop by about £250 once I reach 1 years NCB so I think it will be worth it if it's possible...

Yeah you can change the car at any point through the policy, there'll be a charge, might not cost you much as you've only got a month left, mind. But your renewal might go up a bit even with the additional NCB. Or it might cancel it out - Focii aren't too expensive to insure :)

Sure about that? lol :p ;)

I lost a years NCB because my old insurance company wanted far far far too much to to change over to the Focus, so just cancelled the policy and changed insurers. My situation will likely be slightly different to Hamzter's.

depending on who the insurance company is (i know you get charged 17.50 from the admiral group) plus the last month on cover i reckon it would be the cheapest option to change it over for the last month

Is Elephant not part of the admiral group? I was not charged anything when i moved from my Ibiza FR to 320D, the premium went up by 39 quid and that was it, policy had about 4 months left to renewal too.

should always be a charge for changes mid term with elephant , admiral, bell and diamond as its a standard charge, so looks like you were lucky :)
