No pic, but it's a gold 1906 Edward VII sovereign coin (Sydney). Been looking online but a lot of sites are giving it a different value, so not quite sure.

Depends what quality it is.

Take a picture of both sides and post it up to have a gander if you can.

The above is about right, but depends if it's in good condition or not.
 
the price i quoted was for a bullion quality coin - so a moderate amount of wear.
it will be less if it is damaged but not much less - its worth its own gold content obviously.
 
It's pretty much perfect condition, no marks or anything on it and still really shiny. My phone camera isn't good enough to show it really.

then don't sell it for less than the buy price quoted on coininvestdirect dot com (£172 atm) but you may get more on ebay if its in particularly good condition.
obviously don't send it to any of those places on tv!
assuming you want to sell it - i don't see gold going down in sterling any time soon.
