Hi,
Yesterday i fitted a new exhaust from the cat back but the back box sounds like sommething a chav would put on a corsa.

The exhaust is a aftermarket part but it looks exactly the same as the original. I just cant understand why its so loud.

The internals could be totally different, just because it looks the same doesn't mean it is.

Plus I've found new exhausts tend to sound louder initially until they bed in a bit.

Not enough info to go on tbh.

Are you a chav with a Corsa?

Lol not a chance the car is a 1.0 swift. I have made sure that its not blowing i used exhaust paste on all the joins and double checked it. If i cover the back box it becomes quiet, the exhaust only cost me £47 so could that be why?

Your profile says you are from Stoke and you are putting an aftermarket exhaust on 1.0 swift.

I do hope you don't go to festival park and do wheel spins with all the other rude boys.

When i said aftermarket i did not mean a backbox from halfords its just a cheap version of the factory fitted exhaust and i would never dream of dicking about in a car park destroying my ditch finders with my 1.0l beast.

A lot of replacement systems are quite loud at first. The one on Kate's Golf is very boomy at idle, the one we had on the Mondeo was really loud at first but soon quietened down.
